Refund policy

To start a return, you can contact us at hello@apothegary.co.uk.

PLEASE NOTE: soy wax melts are non refundable due to their perishable nature (unless they arrive damaged or faulty). All other scented products are refundable, provided the following conditions have been met: 

  • To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. 
  • Returns must be raised within 30 days of purchase, and approved via email before you send any items back. 
  • Please be advised that we do not accept liability for items customers are returning. We kindly ask that all customers consider tracking their returns.
  • If the product is not defective or damaged, the postage charge for the return will be covered by the customer. 
  • Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. 

Damages, defective items, or incorrect items received 
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Please ensure you take a photograph of the full contents of your parcel and send it to us at hello@apothegary.co.uk. 

If it appears the product has been dropped or misused since safely arriving to you, we reserve the right not to process a refund.

On the rare occasion where a product has become faulty during use, it is essential that you have followed the care guide on the product packaging. When resolving any issues relating to faults during use, we will require photographic evidence and may require further information to ensure a resolution is met. If the product has been misused and/or the relevant care card hasn't been followed, we are unable to provide a refund or replacement. 

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 7 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. 
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at hello@apothegary.co.uk.

PLEASE NOTE:

Based on subjectivity alone, we are not able to offer any replacements or refunds regarding scent throw (strength of scent) alone. Our products are hand poured, and vigorously tested to ensure high quality end results. Please follow the care/guidance on the packaging of your items to ensure you achieve the best results and enjoy them as designed. 

Due to the nature of soy wax, some of your items may experience cracking, frosting or change of colour - this a natural effect of soy wax and does not impact the performance of your product. 

If you wish to test our products prior to purchasing bigger items, a selection of samples is available in our online store. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
