THE FOUNDER

In 2015, Gary was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue sarcoma. During recovery, he found solace in something unexpected — fragrance. The ritual of scent transformed his home into a sanctuary, a place of calm amid uncertainty.

I didn't set out to create a brand, but that experience became ApotheGARY®: a house of scent built around intention and atmosphere. Every fragrance is blended and hand-poured in Lancashire, crafted to help you create your own sanctuary — wherever you are.

Lainey is the essence of my Mum, crafted in memory of her hugs - the kind that made the world feel still and safe.

This scent began as something deeply personal — an emotional register rather than a brief. Through sixteen iterations, it became the most refined and complex composition within ApotheGARY®.

Built slowly and with intention, it was first shared with those closest to its inspiration before becoming part of the house.

Created in memory of warmth, presence, and closeness — the feeling of being held by someone who made the world feel still. Not a reconstruction of a moment, but an attempt to preserve its presence.

A composition that carries, more than any other, the fullest expression of care in its making.
